2018 was the tenth anniversary of Liverpool’s Capital of Culture and in celebration Toxteth Reservoir provided a historic back-drop in which to host this cutting-edge spectacle. Technology and magic become indistinguishable in Aurora, as a new large-scale installation by Liverpool’s FACT (Foundation for Art and Creative Technology) and Leeds-based technical wizards Invisible Flock. Aurora took over the grand, iron-pillared interior of the building to create a playful and immersive participatory event, which harnessed the Internet of Things. The short video captures the creative involvement of local children and was the culmination of the extended school’s project.
